Title: Radiographer (Radiologic Technologist)
Location: Detroit, MI

Shift Hours:     • 3:00am-3:30pm

Schedule Notes:

  • Candidate must have ARRT certification
  • Candidate must have experience:
  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma ;Previous OR experience
  • OT is billable after 48-hour

Job Summary
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs diagnostic radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians. Prepares patients, operates imaging equipment, applies appropriate positioning and radiation-safety techniques, and ensures accurate image quality and documentation in accordance with department protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures, prepare patients, review clinical information, and obtain relevant medical history.
  • Perform routine radiologic examinations using appropriate positioning and imaging techniques.
  • Operate radiographic equipment and utilize immobilization devices as needed.
  • Administer IV contrast when required and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Prepare sterile equipment and maintain infection-control and patient-safety standards.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and ensure procedure areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Review images for quality and resolve image exceptions through PACS.
  • Complete study indexing and documentation in RIS and the medical record.
  • Confirm clinical protocols with the Radiologist as needed before performing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support clinical and billing requirements.
  • Assist with training and orientation of new staff and students when assigned.
  • Provide compassionate patient care while maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible.
  • Registry-eligible candidates must obtain ARRT registration within 6 months of hire.
  • Current BLS/BCLS certification required.
  • Must maintain required continuing education hours.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in hospital, ER, OR, and mobile imaging environments.
  • Ability to safely lift or move equipment and patients as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Certification & Licensure
  • Healthcare Provider certification (BCLS)
  • Registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
