Title: Certified Surgical Technician
Location: Onsite - Jackson, MI
Shift Hours
- 3x12s: 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
- Call Schedule: Once per week and every 6th weekend
Schedule Notes • REQUIRED: Minimum 1 year ST experience, BLS certification through AHA, current CST certification, previous travel experience, High School diploma or GED equivalent
Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist performs a variety of technical duties to assist with the preparation and care of pre-operative patients. Supports the surgical team by ensuring patients, instruments, equipment, and supplies are appropriately prepared for surgical procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and care for patients prior to surgical procedures.

Assist the surgical team with technical duties and procedural preparation.

Prepare and organize surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment as required.

Maintain appropriate sterile technique and support infection-control practices.

Ensure the operating room and necessary equipment are prepared for procedures.

Provide appropriate support to the surgical team throughout assigned procedures.

Maintain patient safety, comfort, and privacy.

Follow established hospital, surgical, safety, and infection-control policies and procedures.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

Graduate of a formal Surgical Technician/Surgical Technology program.

Minimum 1 year of Surgical Technologist (ST) experience required.

Previous travel experience required.

Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to support pre-operative patient care and surgical team needs.
Required Certification & Licensure
-
Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required through an accepted credentialing organization, including:

NBSTA – Certified Surgical Technologist
-
NCCT – Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
