Title: Physical Therapist - Inpatient
Location: Onsite - Detroit, MI

Shift Hours     • 10- hour shift; start time negotiable
Schedule Notes     • Candidate must have BLS     • Schedule: Wednesday - Thursday     • Start time is negotiable    

Job Summary
The Physical Therapist provides direct, patient-centered care using age-specific standards of practice across diverse patient populations. The role evaluates patient needs, develops and implements individualized treatment plans, and collaborates with healthcare team members to achieve functional and patient-centered goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct physical therapy services to patients across various age groups.

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical needs and functional goals.

  • Deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, strength, function, and quality of life.

  • Apply age-specific standards of practice for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to support patient outcomes.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, progress, and outcomes.

  • Perform other related physical therapy duties as assigned.


Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy with 5 years of experience, OR

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)-accredited program. 2 Years

  • Strong problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of care standards for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.


Required Certification & Licensure

  • Valid, unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the State of Michigan.

  • Current BLS certification


Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
