Radiologic Technologist-Computed Tomography

About the opportunity

Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs computerized tomography (CT) imaging procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and exceptional customer service. May also perform general diagnostic radiology examinations and assist with specialized imaging procedures as needed.
Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures, reviewing clinical history, and verifying imaging protocols.

  • Perform CT scans using appropriate equipment settings to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.

  • Administer intravenous contrast media, including use of power injectors, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.

  • Assist radiologists with complex and sterile procedures, including biopsies, when required.

  • Adhere to radiation safety principles (ALARA) and infection prevention standards.

  • Ensure accurate image management in PACS and complete study documentation in the Radiology Information System (RIS) and medical record.

  • Maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to support efficient patient care.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to patient-centered care through excellent communication, teamwork, professionalism, and service excellence.


Qualifications
Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT), or CT registry-eligible.

  • Commitment to maintaining required continuing education.

  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
