• Shift 3pm-11:30pm, every other weekend
• Ideal Resource will have a well-rounded background (general x-ray, c-arms, flow exams, etc.) in ER and OR environments

Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs computerized tomography (CT) radiological procedures on patients and may perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Provides safe, accurate, and high-quality imaging services in a Level III Trauma Center environment, including Emergency Room (ER) and Operating Room (OR) settings. Performs related duties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them appropriately for imaging.

• Review clinical information, requisitions, and patient medical history to determine the appropriate examination.

• Analyze patient anatomy, prepare equipment, and perform CT examinations according to established protocols.

• Operate CT equipment to obtain appropriate diagnostic information and high-quality images.

• Administer intravenous contrast media, including use of power injectors, and monitor patients for potential reactions.

• Provide appropriate immediate care in the event of a contrast reaction.

• Prepare sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies for applicable procedures.

• Assist radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures, including biopsies.

• Apply radiation protection principles and ALARA techniques to minimize radiation exposure.

• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery through PACS, including verification of images and series counts.

• Complete required study indexing and workflow activities in the Radiology Information System (RIS).

• Review and confirm clinical protocols with the radiologist before performing examinations when necessary.

• Maintain appropriate supplies, linens, equipment, and procedure room readiness.

• Perform accurate documentation in the medical record and RIS to support clinical and billing functions.

• Demonstrate professional customer service, effective communication, teamwork, responsiveness, and respect for patients and colleagues.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications
Required

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.

• Must maintain required hours of continuing medical education.

• Minimum 1 year of CT experience required.

• Experience working in a Level III Trauma Center preferred/required as applicable.

• Experience with Toshiba and GE CT equipment.

• Current experience in a hospital radiology environment.

• Well-rounded experience in general X-ray, C-arms, and fluoroscopy/flow examinations preferred.

• Experience working in Emergency Room (ER) and Operating Room (OR) environments.

• Knowledge of CT imaging procedures, protocols, and radiation safety practices.

• Experience with IV contrast administration and power injectors.

• Working knowledge of PACS and RIS.

• Ability to review clinical information and follow established imaging protocols.

• Strong patient-care, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced trauma and hospital environment.

• Ability to work independently while demonstrating teamwork, initiative, flexibility, and professionalism.

Required Certification & Licensure

• ARRT (R) certification required.

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

• Advanced CT registry through ARRT or CT registry-eligible.

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
