- OT Billed after 48 hours
- MSP Activity Log Job Summary Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care in the Intensive Care Unit. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families. Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of appropriate solutions. Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care in the ICU.

Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide effective patient care.

Provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care and patient/family teaching.

Assess patient conditions and formulate appropriate nursing care plans.

Provide a wide variety of professional nursing services to critically ill patients.

Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention.

Effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to support positive patient outcomes.

Participate in identifying variances from patient goals and finding appropriate solutions.

Ensure implementation of identified solutions to address patient care needs.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

Follow established ICU, hospital, safety, and patient care policies and procedures.

Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to critically ill patients and their families.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
-
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.

Minimum 2 years of previous ICU experience required.

Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the assigned unit/department.

Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.

Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking abilities.

Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changes in critically ill patients.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Strong patient-care, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to provide, delegate, supervise, and document patient care appropriately.
Required Certification & Licensure

Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing required.

BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.

ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Additional Requirements

Minimum Experience: 2 years of previous ICU experience.

Working Conditions
Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
